I was a little nervous after reading the reviews as they were mixed, but my son who was recently diagnosed and being treated for A herniated disc in his back, said this is so comfortable. He has his daughter every other week, so every other week sleeps on the futon and is very pleased with it. It is supportive yet comfortable for his back. I read some reviews of it coming with a smell well mine had no smell at all. I would highly recommend this futon mattress!!!Forest green with black stitching. No surprises on color. didn't have the odor some others have complained about. Was kind of squished upon arrival, but I let it plump up a week before use. Daughter stayed 2 weeks and said it was very comfy..This mattress is decent. It turns out to be about 8”. It is big and looks nice.It does have a strange smell... kind of like fresh paint. I asked my kids if they noticed and they did not.The fill is a little lumpy. I don’t think that this mattress would hold up to heavy use.Overall, I think it’s nice for the price.Have been sleeping on it for over two months now. I really like it. It does compress around my butt and torso, but I weigh 235, and futons usually compress anyway. I just rotate it, head to toe, every two weeks or so. It is really comfy, and very warm. I like that because I like to sleep with just a thin blanket over me, and this mattress really retains the heat and keeps me comfy. Not really 10 thick inches I don't think, but they all probably exaggerate that way. Definitely not cheap, though, it is solid, heavy, and comfortable. I got the "tangerine dream" color which is very bright orange...I like it. Shipping was quicker than expected. What's with the "Blazing Needles" name...anybody know? After having our downstairs - including all of our furniture - destroyed by Hurricane Harvey flood waters, we have been living upstairs & using our playroom futon which had barely been used prior. Now that we have had to really use it, we realized just how uncomfortable it really is (sorry guests who have used it in the past). So, we bought this bigger mattress to use and it makes a HUGE difference! While still not as comfortable as a couch, it will definitely serve the purpose until we can finish reconstruction and get new furniture. And, as a tip to others, we were having a hard time getting it to stay in place. Every time we got up the mattress had to be adjusted back up because it slid down. We finally got some of the rubber backing you can put under rugs to keep them from sliding and put it under the seat part. We haven't had to adjust it all since!Needs hand loops to facilitate moving and repositioning, otherwise 5 starSo far, we like it. We used it to replace the cushions on a wooden frame couch. It does seem bulky to move but no complaints when sitting on it.Edit: I ended up tossing it out. I have cats, one end of the back kept drooping down (from them laying on it all the time). I couldn’t make it look nice, so I just tossed it.Love this product but....it’s missing ties to uphold the product during use. Very comfortable and high quality fabric. Great for folks with young children.
